Elon Musk has become the world’s first trillionaire, and his businesses and preferred investments are drawing more market attention than ever before. To see what an investment strategy built around his ideas might look like, we asked ChatGPT to build an Elon Musk-inspired portfolio, and the result was a high-risk allocation focused primarily on the entrepreneur’s own companies, cryptocurrency, and trending tech investments.
Tesla as the foundation of the Elon Musk Portfolio
According to the algorithm, the largest allocation, around 40%, ought to go to Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) , Musk’s flagship automaker. Until last week’s SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) debut, Tesla was Musk’s most valuable publicly traded company, and it still serves as the foundation of the portfolio.

Accordingly, the 40% weighting reflects ChatGPT’s conviction that Tesla remains most closely tied to ‘Musk’s vision of the future.’
SpaceX as Elon Musk’s most valuable company
With SpaceX now publicly listed as Musk’s most valuable company with a $2.1 trillion market cap, its second-largest allocation on the chatbot’s list is hardly surprising.

After all, the company dominates the commercial launch market, operates the Starlink satellite network, and is widely viewed as one of the leading beneficiaries of the expanding space economy.
As such, SpaceX offers exposure to several major growth markets simultaneously, backed by government and defense contracts. A 30% allocation thus reflects the view that SpaceX could become one of the defining industrial and technology companies of the coming decades.
Bitcoin to capture Musk’s interest in crypto
Next, the chatbot allocated 15% to Bitcoin (BTC) for this Elon Musk investment portfolio, inspired by the trillionaire’s long-standing interest in cryptocurrency and connections with Dogecoin (DOGE). Although it’s far below its record highs posted in late 2025, Bitcoin remains the most valuable digital asset, and SpaceX actually debuted with BTC on its balance sheet.

However, due to its inherent volatility and speculative nature, ChatGPT included it as a riskier play, but one that could still prove profitable in the long run.
AI and semiconductors to complement Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI
Another 10% is dedicated to AI and chipmakers, industries at the center of the current technology cycle.
10% should go to Elon Musk’s investments in AI. Source: Finbold and ChatGPTThe reason why the algorithm did not allocate more to the sector is that Tesla and SpaceX already provide some exposure to AI. That is, these additional 10% of the portfolio should focus on the broader ecosystem powering the technology revolution, AI infrastructure, data-center hardware, and so on.
Of course, the allocation also reflects Musk’s interest in artificial intelligence through ventures such as xAI.
Some cash for moonshots and Elon Musk’s Twitter pumps
Finally, the large language model (LLM) suggested the remaining 5% should stay in cash, preserving flexibility for moonshots, i.e., more speculative, sudden opportunities.

To use the chatbot’s own words, it creates ‘dry powder for speculative opportunities,’ which can also include market selloffs or emerging technologies that may suddenly capture Musk’s attention on social media.
